Premier League side Watford have joined the race to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 26-year old has been a standout performer for the Potters this season, making 44 appearances in all competitions for Nathan Jones’ men.
But the England international looks destined to leave the bet365 Stadium in the summer, with a host of high profile clubs circling around the shot-stopper.
Ben Foster and Heurehlo Gomes are both approaching the final stages of their career, so Hornets boss Javi Gracia is interested in adding Butland to his ranks at Vicarage Road.
Eddie Howe’s men also remain interested in the player, who is valued at a price of around £25million by Stoke. The Cherries are looking to offload Artur Boruc and Asmir Begovic in the summer.
I think Stoke fans, despite how much they love Butland, will be wanting him to leave in the summer.
He is too good to be playing Championship football, and £25million would be a lot of money which would be beneficial for Jones in the summer.
A move to either Watford or Bournemouth would be a good choice by Butland, as he is likely to go in and receive regular game-time in the top-flight and he needs to be playing at that level to increase his international chances.
