Watford manager Giuseppe Sannino has admitted that he is interested in bringing former AC Miland and Fiorentina midfielder Massimo Ambrosini to the club, according to Sky Sports.
The 37-year old midfielder is currently a free agent following his recent release from Serie A side Fiorentina having spent one season with the Florence side, during which he featured 21 times.
The veteran midfielder has been subject to interest in his homeland but as of late Watford have been showing signs of interest in Ambrosini.
However, if they do want him they may have to act fast as Ambrosini’s first club – the newly promoted Serie A side Cesena – have declared public interest in him in the Italian media.
Sannino spoke highly of the veteran player in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.it, during which he said, “Who wouldn’t like to train him? He’s one of the most serious Italian players, a really good professional.”
It has been rumoured on social media that Watford will offer Ambrosini a one-year deal with a view to extending his stay after a certain amount of appearances for the club.
