Premier League new boys Watford and AFC Bournemouth are keen on Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield, FLW understands.
Arfield has made more than 80 appearances for Burnley since joining Sean Dyche’s side in the summer of 2013 and scored two goals last season as the Clarets lost their top flight status.
The 26-year-old signed a new three-year contract last season and extended his stay at Turf Moor until the summer of 2017.
However, FLW understands that newly promoted Watford and Bournemouth are keeping tabs on Arfield and have been impressed by the midfielder’s performances this season, which included scoring against Chelsea on his Premier League debut.
The Hornets and Cherries are both keen to bolster their squads and could move for Arfield who has a year’s worth of Premier League experience.
Arfield made 37 appearances for Burnley, playing 3204 minutes whilst scoring two goals and registering one assist with a pass success percentage of 75.7%, according to whoscored.com.
