Nottingham Forest are enjoying a mixed campaign which has seen them never really compete for a top six spot, whilst also not really looking like a serious relegation candidate.

New manager Aitor Karanka has come in to take over from Mark Warburton and he is doing a relatively good job, with the Reds now unbeaten in their last six league games.

Forest currently occupy 16th spot in the Sky Bet Championship having accumulated 45 points so far this season, and Forest fans and Karanka will definitely be looking ahead to next season to launch a genuine assault on the top six.

The former Middlesbrough boss did not hold back in the January transfer window, signing an array of new players to help bolster the squad and imprint his mark on the Reds side.

The Forest side that Karanka is deploying on a regular basis is a pretty different to the one we saw under former boss Warburton, and you get the feeling that Karanka will be ruthless at the end of the season, with many players likely to be in the firing line at the City Ground.

We've identified THREE players who are likely to be in Karanka's firing line....

Bridcutt was an influential figure under Warburton in the middle of the park, but Karanka prefers using Ben Watson and Jack Colback as the midfield combo.

Bridcutt's days are numbered at the City Ground.

Similarly to Bridcutt, McKay was a key component of Mark Warburton's team but you get the impression that Karanka isn't the Scotsman's biggest fan.

The winger clearly possesses talent but he's hardly featured under the Spaniard so a move away is looking very much on the cards.

Time could be up for the goalkeeper at the City Ground.

Often criticised on social media by the Forest faithful, it is looking likely he'll be in Karanka's firing line.
