Saturday was another classy performance from Aston Villa in the Sky Bet Championship, with Steve Bruce’s side continuing to go from strength-to-strength in the promotion race.
Bruce’s side moved past Burton Albion thanks to a 3-2 victory, which has helped Villa put the pressure on the Championship’s top-two, who they sit narrowly behind following the weekend’s results.
Goals from Scott Hogan, Albert Adomah and Jack Grealish secured the points for Villa, who were reasonably comfortable despite Burton’s late fight at Villa Park.
Hogan’s goal was his fifth in five appearances and boosted the striker’s hopes of maintaining his place in the starting XI despite Lewis Grabban’s arrival.
The 25-year-old’s goal came following a fantastic team move, which saw perhaps the pass of the season from Robert Snodgrass, who slipped Albert Adomah into the area, which subsequently led to the ball getting sent into Hogan’s path.
Aston Villa’s official Twitter page (@AVFCOfficial) have moved to share a GIF of Snodgrass’ pass.

The 30-year-old’s role on Saturday was further evidence of his magnificent form, which has been key to helping Villa into the automatic promotion race.
Villa are a point adrift of Derby County, who still sit second in the division.
What a ball from Snodgrass.
The pass gets better every time you watch it and deserves the praise it is receiving.
The Scottish winger finds himself on an incredible run of form, which if he can keep up, should help Villa to promotion this season.
