Chievo Verona goalkeeper Elia Caprile is reportedly expected in Leeds over the weekend to seal his move to Leeds United, which has drawn an interesting response from fans of the Yorkshire club.

In experienced Spaniard Kiko Casilla and teenage loanee Illan Meslier, Leeds already have some strong goalkeeping options, however, the former is awaiting a disciplinary hearing over a racism charge and could be set for a six-match ban.

It appears the Yorkshire club are preparing for that eventuality as it has been reported previously that they're looking to add some additional cover at the position in January.

The Athletic's Phil Hay has revealed that the Whites are close to sealing a deal for Caprile, who is expected in Yorkshire this weekend.

The 18-year-old has never featured for the Chievo first team but has plenty of experience below senior level–making 40 appearances for Chievo Primavera and 25 appearances for Chievo U17s.

Caprile has also featured at international level, making his debut for Italy U18s in February 2019.
