Charlton have confirmed that 31-year-old midfielder Beram Kayal has returned to his parent club Brighton & Hove Albion after his loan spell was cut short due to injury.

The Israeli international has been out since November with a groin injury, and has undergone a surgical procedure for the problem, ruling him out for a considerable period of time.

With it being unclear when Kayal would be back available, Charlton have taken the option to terminate his loan at the club. He will continue his rehabilitation with Brighton.

It has been an ill-fated spell at Charlton for Kayal, who signed for the club on a season-long loan on deadline day last summer.

However, injuries have not helped his cause, with the midfielder going on to make just six appearances for the Addicks.
