Leeds United attacking midfielder Tyler Roberts was left out of the top-of-the-table clash with West Bromwich Albion yesterday as a precaution, which has drawn a frustrated response from many fans of the Yorkshire club.

Roberts missed the start of the season as he was recovering from knee surgery but that has been just the beginning of his injury issues in the 2019/20 campaign.

Due to fitness problems, the 20-year-old has made just 10 appearances for the Whites this season and featured for the first time in more than a month against Birmingham City on Sunday–coming on as a substitute in the 81st minute.

The Athletic's Phil Hay reported yesterday that Roberts had traveled with the team to the Hawthorns but had a tight hamstring and was left out of the squad by Marcelo Bielsa as a precaution.

Leeds' have been unfortunate with injury issues this season, particularly in midfield–where Pablo Hernandez, Adam Forshaw, and Jamie Shackleton have all also spent time on the sidelines.

That trio are all still absent due to injury, so you feel a return for Roberts would be a huge boost for the Whites–giving Bielsa more options in an area he is a bit short at the moment.

The Welshman has struggled with injury problems since arriving at Elland Road in January 2018 and it appears this latest injury update has left many Leeds supporters frustrated.
