‘Waste of a shirt’, ‘Dreadful’ – Many Sheffield Wednesday fans react to 28-year-old’s weekend display

A number of Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been bemoaning the lack of impact that forward Elias Kachunga managed to have on the game after he was brought on with 20 minutes to play during their 4-1 defeat at QPR.

The Owls headed into the game aiming to build on what was an excellent performance and result against Cardiff City on Monday as they ran out convincing 5-0 winners. However, this was a display that more reflected the levels they have been producing most of the campaign and shows why they are facing relegation down to League One after another defeat.

One player who was brought on to try and influence the game was Kachunga, who came on as part of a triple change by Sheffield Wednesday with them trailing 3-1. The 28-year-old could not do much to turn things around for the Owls despite having got into a few decent positions in the final third during the closing 20 minutes of the game at QPR.

Are these 17 facts about Sheffield Wednesday’s club badge true or false?

Kachunga missed one big chance to get the Owls back into the contest after coming on and also gave the ball away on three occasions (Sofascore). The result was far from the forward’s fault but his miss late on prevented them from having a glimmer of hope. It perhaps sums up the way that things have progressed for him since he made the move to Hillsborough last summer.
