A Manchester City insight has made their plans for Jack Harrison become slightly clearer, as Leeds United reap the rewards of the winger’s development and line up a permanent move.

Leeds moved to re-sign Harrison back in the summer transfer window, with Marcelo Bielsa keen to link-up with the City winger for a second season in the Sky Bet Championship.

And, we’ve seen Harrison score five goals and notch seven assists this season, start every Championship fixture and already begin to dwarf his first year’s contribution at Elland Road.

Included in the deal to bring Harrison back to Elland Road is an option for Leeds to sign the 23-year-old permanently in the summer transfer window.

Recently, Leeds Live caught up with MEN’s Simon Bajkowski, who was able to offer City’s view on how seriously they consider Harrison as part of their future.

“Before football's suspension, he wasn't central to their plans, but neither had he been completely discounted,” Bajkowski revealed.

The season is currently on hold and no return date confirmed; the expectancy is that the campaign is likely to spill well into the summer, however, impacting the transfer window in the process.

Additionally, City have had a ban from the Champions League imposed, leaving the reigning Premier League champions in a unique position.

Bajkowski continued: “Harrison has impressed Pep Guardiola previously and the coach will also get an honest appraisal from his close friend Bielsa.

“City's plans were made more uncertain by the Champions League plan in the first place and coronavirus has led to uncertainty over the whole of football.”

Harrison will be looking to guide Leeds back into the Premier League in the remaining nine games of the Championship season, with Bielsa’s side top of the table and seven points clear of third.
