Leeds United full-back Laurens De Bock is heading out of Elland Road again, with the left back heading to ADO Den Haag on a loan deal, with an option to buy, as confirmed on the Whites club website, linking up with former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew who is manager at the Dutch side.

De Bock had cut short his loan at Sunderland at the start of the month, with Black Cats manager Phil Parkinson saying that the left-back wanted to move closer to his native Belgium for personal reasons.

So do you feel this latest loan move for De Bock means his Leeds United career is over?

We discuss.........

Jordan Rushworth

“You would think that De Bock’s time at Elland Road was coming to an end with the left-back set to spend the rest of the season away from Leeds on a second loan spell this season, following his return from League One Sunderland.

“Marcelo Bielsa clearly prefers both Barry Douglas and Ezgjan Alioski in the left-back position, with both of those players better suited to the way in which Leeds play, and it would be very difficult to see that changing in the summer when De Bock would be due to return from his loan spell.

The defender’s move to Leeds has not really worked out for him, with De Bock finding himself well down the pecking order during most of his time at Elland Road, and since Bielsa came in the left-back has never really seemed like establishing himself in the starting line-up.

“De Bock would probably be better off looking to secure a permanent transfer away from Leeds when he returns from his latest loan spell in the summer, and go to a club where he can be given the chance to establish himself as a key first team player.”

George Harbey

"I think his career at Leeds United was over when Bielsa walked through the doors at Elland Road and immediately sent him out on loan to Oostende.

"De Bock was given somewhat of a second chance to impress when he was sent out on loan to Sunderland this season, but his time at the Stadium of Light was far from positive and he made only four league starts for the Black Cats, which is a poor tally.

"He will need to settle down somewhere and start playing his football at a permanent location sooner rather than later, and it really wouldn;t surprise me if someone like Den Haag sign him for good if he impresses over there.

"Leeds have already have two quality left-backs in Gjanni Alioski and Barry Douglas, and I honestly don't think De Bock is anywhere near them in terms of quality."

Josh Cole

“Since joining Leeds in 2018, De Bock has struggled to adapt to life in the Championship and thus it is hardly surprising that he has been loaned out again by Marcelo Bielsa.

“Limited to just seven appearances in all competitions for the Whites, the defender’s recent spells away from Elland Road have been relatively unsuccessful.

“After returning to Leeds earlier this month following a brief stint at Sunderland in which he failed to make a lasting impression, De Bock will be hoping that his latest move to ADO Den Haag will give him the chance to play regularly.

“However, when you consider that the Whites currently have the likes of Barry Douglas and Ezgjan Alioski at their disposal, it wouldn’t be a shock if De Bock is allowed to leave on a permanent basis in the summer as he is unlikely to reclaim the full-back slot.”
