A vital win at home to play-off hopefuls, Reading, provided Nottingham Forest with much needed breathing space in their race for Championship survival last weekend.

Poor form has seen the Reds dragged into the relegation dogfight, and former Rangers manager, Mark Warburton, was brought into the club to steer the former European Cup winners away from danger.

One more win should be enough to secure another season of Championship football for the East Midlands side, and Warburton will look ahead to this weekend’s clash with relegation rivals, QPR, with victory on his mind.

The former Brentford boss has a personal agenda with the R’s too, after managing their great rivals for several years.

Warburton is likely to stick with the same eleven that edged out Reading at the weekend, but his entire squad will play a huge role in the bottom of the table match up.

Here we look at TWO players who could come off the bench to help Forest to victory in their penultimate game of the season.

Jamie Ward

Northern Ireland international, Ward, has been with Forest since 2015, but spent a large part of this season on loan at Burton Albion.

Back in the Forest side, Ward has a point to prove. The English born player is potentially fighting for his future, and his performances over the next two games may decide whether he is still at the club in August.

Ward will most likely start on the bench, but can have a devastating impact coming off of it.

Quick and skillful, Ward is a capable goal scorer, and found the net 4 times for Burton during his loan spell.

He is an excellent option to introduce to tiring defences, and could run QPR ragged on Saturday with fresh legs.

Ward is an experienced, talented player, and with a point to prove, is a potential match winner off the bench.

Zach Clough

22-year-old Clough linked up with the Reds from boyhood club, Bolton Wanderers, in January, after spending 14 years with the Lancashire club.

The youngster has made an impressive start to life in Nottingham, and 4 goals in 12 appearances has given hope to Forest fans that he could be the real deal.

Clough did not make it off the bench in Saturday’s tight affair with Reading, and with Warburton likely to name the same eleven, Clough will start on the sidelines once more.

Like the aforementioned Ward, Clough is a player who can find the net, and the young forward smashed 9 League goals before Christmas with his former side.

Clough has huge potential, but also the ability to make an impact at the City Ground now. Coming off the bench at Loftus Road,

I would not bet against Clough being involved if Forest are to pick up points.
