It's been a tough season for Nottingham Forest down at the bottom of the Championship and there's plenty of work to do for manager Mark Warburton over the summer.

Improving the ranks in the Reds squad will be top of his priority, with the majority of Philippe Montanier's players seriously underperforming throughout much of the campaign, which led to the Reds' demise down the table.

But having stayed up on the final day of the season, there is an element of optimism buzzing around the City Ground at the moment that the next couple of months will be a more promising episode in the club's history.

And one man we think could seriously help the Reds going forward is £850,000-rated striker Billy Sharp, who has been in fantastic form for League One Champions Sheffield United this campaign.

The former Leeds United man bagged a superb 30 goals as the Blades shot to the summit of League One, staying there for most of the campaign too.

But with United boss Chris Wilder bringing in Ched Evans already this summer, there's thought that in-form Sharp might be the sort of player who could be on his way out of Bramall Lane this summer, if the offer is right.

And with goals at an all time low down in the East Midlands, Forest could do with a proven goalscorer to really help Britt Assombalonga out next season.

Ben Brereton and Zach Clough are promising young forwards but they need goals and proven scorers at this level.

And right now, there really is no better than Billy Sharp, who could be just the man to lead Forest's revival in the Championship.
