Speaking to QPR's official media channels and as quoted by the Kilburn Times, Hoops manager Mark Warburton has discussed the challenges and concerns he has for his players during the current period of isolation in the country.

QPR are one of the sides bound to be wanting for the season to resume as soon as it is safe to do so and Mark Warburton has already been vocal in calling for that to be the course of action in the coming weeks.

The R's retain play-off hopes with them just six points off of the top six and with them also finding some decent form under the former Brentford manager.

The challenge, then, is to make sure the players are as fit as possible once we get back underway and it seems as though Warburton is all too aware of the obstacles currently presenting themselves.

He said:

“It’s challenging because we’re in unprecedented times.

“We really are in uncharted waters. You’re taking professional athletes who are used to daily training regimes and they suddenly find themselves under lockdown and they are trying to maintain specific levels."

The Verdict

QPR have been enjoyable to watch for a neutral this season and, though at times they have frustrated their fans, they are now in a position to challenge for the top six in the second tier.

They'll be itching to get back going in the Championship as soon as it is safe to do so, then, with Warburton a big supporter of that and also looking really at home in W12 with the players clearly working well under him.
