Queens Park Rangers face a bit of a waiting game over the fitness of several of their players as they prepare for the west London derby with Brentford tomorrow evening.

The Championship games are just going to keep on coming between now and well into the new year and, with that, injuries are set to mount.

Warburton, then, has admitted the Hoops are assessing the likes of Rob Dickie, Conor Masterson and Yoann Barbet ahead of tomorrow's game.

Quoted by West London Sport, he said:

“The boys are being tested as we speak.

“We’ll see how they are and how they report. The second day (after a match) is often worse in terms of soreness and injury.

“Every club is the same. It’s Emergency Ward 10 on certain days and we just see how they report.”

Dickie has been out for the last two games after rolling his ankle whilst both Barbet (foot) and Masterson (broken nose) picked up knocks against Rotherham United on Tuesday.

Warburton continued:

“We’ll have to see how they are,” Warburton said.

“With Rob, when you increase their loading on the training pitch you have to see if there’s a reaction.

“Yoann and Conor both took nasty whacks. Again, it’s often worse on the second day, so we’ll have to see how they report this morning.

“At the moment I honestly don’t know. Fingers crossed and we’ll just have to wait and see.

“With players now it’s very often giving it until the last minute to see if they’re available.”

The Verdict

QPR will naturally want to give the three as long as they can before declaring whether they are fit or not for this one as they're all in the same position.

The likes of Geoff Cameron or Dom Ball may well be needed to fill in tomorrow night but only time will tell - you'd like to think for the R's sake they'll get a bit of a break here and get a couple of them ready.
