Queens Park Rangers' manager Mark Warburton has apologised to fans after his side's 'unacceptable' 4-0 loss at home to Nottingham Forest in the Championship last night.

Forest took a 1-0 lead into half-time after Tobias Figueiredo headed in from a corner. QPR were still in the game at a goal down but that changed when Lee Wallace was shown a straight red card for bringing down Joe Lolley as the last man.

The away side took charge of the game and Lewis Grabban scored the first of three in the final ten minutes, with Joao Carvalho and Alfa Semedo adding Forest's third and fourth on the night.

Speaking to the club's media after the game, Warburton said:

“At 1-0 down with ten men and ten minutes to go we miss a big chance and it was a big moment in the game.

“But from that point on it was unacceptable from us as a group of players and staff because we are all one team, we win together and lose together.

“From the 81st minute it was not QPR, we have given away three soft goals. The fact we went down to ten men is irrelevant - we didn’t win headers, didn’t win tackles and gave the ball away too cheaply."

It's the club's biggest defeat under the former Forest manager and means they're now without a win in six, losing four of those - QPR are now in 16th place in the Championship.

“I want to apologise to the fans, you don’t want to lose at home anyway but in that manner, it wasn’t acceptable.

“You can’t capitulate like that at home and concede three goals of that nature. We can praise the players when they are doing well but they must take the criticism when it comes their way.”

QPR will next travel to Derby County on Saturday, who are level on points with QPR (24), and two positions above them in 14th.

The verdict

QPR fell apart in the final ten minutes of last night. They crumbled and Warburton would've been embarrassed watching that performance against a former club of his, and something must improve.

A result at Derby would solve a lot of problems for QPR but it's a tough place to travel, and with Derby consistently falling short on the road they'll be looking to take maximum points against a QPR side low on confidence.
