Nottingham Forest boss Mark Warburton has said that full-back Armand Traore can become one of the best players in the division, if he begins to believe in himself.

In an exchange with The Nottingham Post, the former Rangers boss spoke of his admiration for the player, who has suffered with injury problems in recent years.

The 27-year-old progressed through the youth ranks at Arsenal as a youngster, making 13 senior league appearances for Arsene Wenger’s men.

His form at Queens Park Rangers earned him a call-up to the Senegalese international side, and Warburton believes the player can still fulfil his potential as he heads towards the latter stages of his 20’s.

“If Armand believes how good he can be, he can keep on improving. There is a lot of football left in him and there is no doubt how good he can be,” said Warburton.

“There is no doubt about his quality.”

The Verdict

Traore joined Forest last summer from QPR, but injuries have seriously hampered his progress with the club.

Just 12 league outings in that spell will disappoint the fans, but nobody will be more disappointed by that return than the player himself.

Now fit and raring to go, Traore could become an essential member of Warburton’s squad, and could one day play in the Premier League again, should he consistently perform to the highest level.
