Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Warburton has revealed what he expects to happen with centre-back Toni Leistner on transfer deadline day, report West London Sport.

Warburton has revealed that the German will not be leaving Loftus Road today despite reports earlier in the summer from West London Sport that the Rs were looking to sell after he failed to impress his new manager.

But having played 90 minutes in the club's 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday, the new QPR boss now sees the chances of him leaving as slim.

“No I don’t," Warburton said when asked if he expects Leistner to go.

"He played 90 minutes for me and played well. I don’t expect any more players to leave.

“Every player in the world has got a price on them. If any player leaves QPR they leave on QPR’s terms.

“If someone comes in with a ridiculous bid for one of our players, the powers-that-be above my pay grade will consider it.

The 29-year-old only made the move to West London last summer on a free transfer and he went on to impress in his first campaign, racking-up 43 league appearances and scoring twice.

This season, however, he has had to make do with Carabao Cup run-outs and 45 minutes against Wigan Athletic before being given a start on Saturday.

QPR currently sit in eighth place with six matches played in the Championship having made a fast start under Warburton.

The verdict

I think this is a boost for QPR.

Leistner may have had a slow start to the current season but considering how consistently good he was last term I think it would have been pretty reckless to cash in on him so easily.

I expect to see him involved much more frequently from now and with the fast start they have made to the season, why would he not want to be?

Promotion would be a huge ask but it certainly looks like an exciting season could be instore for the Rs.
