David Wagner has encouraged Huddersfield Town to make something "very big" happen in May's Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs, reports Sky Sports.

Last night’s 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed Town’s place in the top-six, which added further gloss on what has been an exceptional season in West Yorkshire.

After topping the table and surprising many in the early stages of the campaign, Wagner’s side have maintained their form over the year and kept pace with the Championship’s elite.

Reflecting on Town’s achievement, Wagner said: “Now we really have something in our hands. We have the play-off spot and the whole football club worked unbelievably hard to achieve something out of the season.

"To do it with two games left is an unbelievable achievement.”

The Terriers are the first team to confirm a place in the Play-Offs, meaning Wagner’s side do not know who they will face in May’s shootout for the Premier League.

The 45-year old continued: “Now our journey will go a little bit longer in the season and we can make something very big out of it."

With their place in the top-six confirmed, Wagner has the luxury of rotating his squad in the coming weeks, with Town still to play two fixtures of the regular season before the Play-Offs.

Town face Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon, before welcoming Cardiff City to the John Smith’s Stadium on the final day of the season.
