Leeds United and Hull City are in the race to sign Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott, according to reports.

The forward has scored 17 goals in League One this season and has been in sensational form for Grant McCann's side.

Aston Villa are in need of a new striker and Marriott could be an option.

Should Bruce's side gazump Leeds in the race to sign the attacker?

We discuss....

Samuel Preston

They've seen how good he is first hand.

He put them to the sword last Saturday in the FA Cup and looked brighter than all the forwards Villa had on the pitch on that occasion.

They should definitely be in the hunt for him but I fear they don't have the money to make Peterborough sell the frontman.

Luke Randall

At all costs.

Villa are struggling for consistencies in the striking department, with their main man Jonathan Kodjia out with an injury.

The Peterborough striker has already shown his worth with a brace against them this season, however the price-tag may creep too high for the Villains.

Chris Gallagher

I don't think so.

Villa don't have the finances to be bringing in several players this window and if it's just one striker I think they need someone with Championship experience given how important promotion is.

For example, Leonardo Ulloa has been mentioned and would be a much better option for the remainder of this season.

George Dagless

Villa should really go for him.

Marriott is surely in high demand at the moment thanks to his form with Peterborough United.

Villa saw first hand what he can do in the FA Cup last weekend and so if they can do it financially I'd say go for it.
