Aston Villa want to sign Swansea winger Modou Barrow, according to a report in the Birmingham Mail via the Sunday People.

Any deal for Barrow would reportedly see Villa forward Jordan Ayew go the other way, following in his brother Jordan's footsteps in joining the Welsh club.

Ghanaian Ayew is currently on duty for his country in the African Nations Cup, and he has made 22 appearances for the Villans this term, scoring 3 goals in the process.

However, a move for Barrow looks to be the preferred option for Villa manager Steve Bruce, as he looks to reshape and rebuild his squad in the final week of the January transfer window.

Barrow has himself made 20 appearances for the Swans this season, and has impressed with his pace and trickery in the wide areas. New Swansea manager Paul Clement will be keen to add new faces himself, and the addition of Villa man Ayew could well be ideal for the former Real Madrid coach.

Swansea upset the odds to beat Liverpool yesterday, while Villa threw away a two goal lead against Preston at Villa Park to take home only a point.

Villa fans, what do you think to this? Would this be a good deal? Let us know in the comments!
