There was no international break to offer a respite for League Two sides this month, with games in the EFL’s lowest tier continuing to come thick and fast.

Things are heating up at both ends of the division and pressure is mounting as we near the business end of the season but there were still some excellent performances.

Six of the best players in March have been nominated for the FLW Fans’ League Two Player of the Month award and we’ve outlined their feats to help you decide who deserves your vote.

The Goalkeepers

Nominee: Lawrence Vigouroux

Interim boss Jobi McAnuff has turned things around at Leyton Orient over the last month, taking 14 points from seven games as they launch a late play-off push.

Their goalkeeper deserves a huge amount of credit for the recent run as well, having kept four clean sheets and made 15 saves, as well as providing the assist for the winner against Carlisle.

The Defenders

Nominees: Tom Davies, Jack Iredale

A run of four wins on the bounce earlier this month earned Barrow 12 points that could be vital to their survival hopes come the end of the season.

Centre-back Tom Davies has been impressive throughout the month but he was particularly dominant during that run, helping the side keep three clean sheets and adding a vital goal in the 3-2 win over Crawley Town.

After a month that saw them claim 12 points from a possible 18, Cambridge United remain top of League Two as we head toward the business end of the season.

The performances of the versatile Jack Iredale during that run have been integral, with the left-sided player making 12 tackles as well as his two goals and an assist.

The Midfielders

Nominee: Tom Pett

Tom Pett played every minute of all six of Stevenage’s League One games in March, helping them go unbeaten and take 14 points from a possible 18.

As well as regularly launching attacks, the midfielder was tenacious – making 15 tackles – and even adding a goal himself.

The Forwards

Nominees: Eoin Doyle, Carlos Mendes Gomes

Bolton are the in-form side in League Two right now and continued their frightening recent run by going unbeaten in March and winning five of their six games – catapulting them to fourth.

No player has been more important to that run over the last month than Eoin Doyle with the striker proving a constant threat, scoring four times and taking 13 shots.

Carlos Mendes Gomes has turned from a bright prospect to a dangerous attacking weapon this term, helping Morecambe launch something of a shock promotion push.

His qualities as both a goalscorer and a creator have been on show in March, as he’s found the net three times and made eight key passes.
