It's safe to say that Marcelo Bielsa has made a good impression on the Elland Road faithful since he was appointed as Leeds United's new boss back in 2018.

Bielsa has taken Leeds from mid-table finishes to a play-off semi-final in a short space of time, and he'll be hoping to build on some impressive performances from last year's campaign.

The Whites are currently sat third in the Championship table this season, and are just two points adrift of league leaders West Brom heading into the international break.

Bielsa deserves a huge amount of credit for turning Leeds into promotion contenders, and it'll be interesting to see if they can deal with the weight of expectation from the club's supporters this term.

In an interview with TMW, Leeds' Director of Football Victor Orta labelled Bielsa as 'an extraordinary technician' and has been impressed with the Leeds boss since he arrived at Elland Road.

"He is an extraordinary technician, who understands our profession he did at Newell's. Now I am further away from scouting but my team is our key. They are capable, high-level, intelligent guys.

"They want to work and I want to enrich Marcelo's work, to give him the best possible material for our game model. He is receptive, he is a person who improves my work, he raises the level, always, constantly."

Leeds take on Luton Town after the international break in a game where they'll be expected to pick up another win to keep the pressure on West Brom as we look ahead to the festive period.

The Verdict:

He's completely transformed Leeds from top to bottom, for all the right reasons.

Bielsa had his doubters when he first came into the club, but he's shown exactly why he is a top-class manager who could be managing at a higher level in my opinion.

If Leeds don't win promotion to the Premier League this season though, then I have serious doubts as to whether he'll be patient enough to give it one more season with the Yorkshire-based club.
