Quoted by MOT Leeds, Paul Robinson has suggested that if Juan Foyth arrived at Leeds United from Tottenham in the summer transfer window it would be a good signing from the Whites.
United are hoping to be back in the Premier League for 2020/21 and whether they do that on the pitch off it is set to be determined sooner rather than later now.
Certainly, if they do achieve a long-awaited promotion, fans are going to be eager to see their club sign some good players in the summer window, though spending is likely to be curtailed thanks to the current situation impacting finances across the board.
Are these 15 Jermaine Beckford facts true or false?
Even so, Leeds will surely have some fire-power in the market and Robinson reckons that signing Foyth from Tottenham has plenty of beneficial factors to be had, especially if Ben White does not stick around at Elland Road after the end of his loan.
“It’s come out of the blue.
“But if he is to leave Spurs then the Argentinian connection could work for Leeds.
“I rate him as a player, I think he did well at Spurs. He played a couple of Champions League games when Serge Aurier wasn’t performing and his defensive capabilities and his ability to play right across the backline would make him a decent acquisition.
“He’s a top-quality player and it would seem like very sensible business for Leeds, especially if they can’t sign Ben White on a permanent deal.”
Foyth is a decent young player with potential but whether he gets the chance to realise that at Spurs remains to be seen.
Robinson reckons a move to Leeds could pay off for the player as he would likely get to work under Marcelo Bielsa and his impact on youngsters is clear for all to see.
