Charlton Athletic forward Lyle Taylor has been the subject of discussion amongst Addicks fans for weeks after it was revealed earlier in the season that the 29-year-old rejected a contract extension.

Taylor currently has less than four months remaining on his current deal, but Lee Bowyer revealed on Thursday that the striker does not want to leave the club.

However, the Addicks boss also said any potential deal will rely on "two or three" other factors, implying that the forward has certain demands, or is seeking assurances from the Chairman.

Charlton fans in the Facebook group 'Charlton Athletic FC (The unofficial & uncensored Charlton fans group' gave their thought on this update, and here is what they had to say in response to the news...

Jay Burgess: He'll only stay if we stay up. That's the first target.

Ben Swaden: Now this is what I love to hear.

Sean Casey: If true, it will be fantastic for everyone: player, club and supporters.

Daniel Ballard: Read this earlier. Sounds very promising. I believe Taylor is happy here and wants to be here. Especially now under the ESI. Let's hope he's signed up for another 3 years before hos contract ends this summer.

Maureen Cannon: He has a lot of thinking to do and all we can do is let him know how much we appreciate him and would love him to stay. But understand if he doesn't!

Darrell Bond: Oh that's a turn of events as I was adamant he was off. I wonder what his assurances are?

Robert Cooper: He'll look at his options and choose the best one for him.
