Sunderland will be hoping they can win a timely promotion back into the Championship this season under the guidance of Phil Parkinson.

The Black Cats are currently sat seventh in the League One table, but are just three points adrift of the automatic promotion places heading towards the conclusion of this year’s campaign.

Who signed Antonio Semenyo?

One player that has played their part in their campaign this term is Grant Leadbitter, who has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Phil Parkinson’s men.

He hasn’t been involved in matchday squad since their win over Lincoln City back in January though, and you would imagine that fans will be keen to have him back involved at the earliest of opportunities.

Plenty of Sunderland supporters took to Twitter to issue their thoughts on Leadbitter’s performances from this year’s campaign, as they target a return to the second tier.
