Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce is not hanging about in getting his summer business done, with the Owls reported to be in advanced talks to sign Brentford right-back Moses Odubajo on a free transfer, according to Football Insider.
Odubajo signed at Griffin Park for a second spell in the summer of 2018 and has made 31 appearances in all competitions for Thomas Frank’s side.
Bruce is no stranger to Odubajo, with the pair working together at Hull City.
So how should Owls fans be feeling about the imminent signing of Odubajo?
“They’re making good signings again, after last season that’s a huge bonus.
“I’m not convinced Steve Bruce is the right man for the job there, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
“I hope Owls fans do too.”
“Very happy – I think this is a great signing. Brentford have made a mistake letting him go.
“Odubajo has a great attitude tireless work rate, which means he’d fit into Bruce’s plans as he looks to freshen up the squad over the summer.
“Odubajo also boasts a great deal of versatility, and Wednesday will really benefit from this as they equip their squad to target promotion next term.”
“I think they’ll be cautiously optimistic about this one.
“This is the first indicator of where Bruce wants to put his mark on the side in terms of incomings, and Odubajo has plenty of experience at this level to call upon.
“Given what Bruce has done since arriving at Hillsborough, they have no reason not to trust him here.”
“He is the sort of player Wednesday do not currently possess and will surely add to their danger next season.
“He is also a favourite of Bruce’s, showing that he is at least making his own signings.”
