Leeds United are in the race to secure a last-gasp deal to sign Dundee centre-back Steven Caulker in a £1.5m deal, according to the Mirror's live blog (08:48am).

Would the 26-year-old former Premier League player be a wise addition to Marcelo Bielsa's side?

We discuss....

Gary Hutchinson

It might be coming from nowhere, but I think this would be a good deal for Leeds, if the price is right.

Caulker was a massive talent but he lost his way. He's confronted his demons and I believe he deserves another stab at English football. I'd go for it, what do they have to lose?

Jay Taylor

Very good signing.

Caulker would add even more defensive stability that Leeds need for the system they play.

With the current crop of defender, Leeds could do with the extra cover.

Bielsa would be silly not to move for the Dundee man.

George Dagless

If he finds form and fitness he'll be class.

Caulker's career has not gone how it should have for a number of reasons but he still has great ability.

He could be a decent arrival for sure.

Jay Williams

Caulker has not been the same player for the past several years so I am not sure he would change at Leeds.

Unless Bielsa really knocked him into shape and got him to cut out his off-the-field issues, then I can see this ending in disaster.

In a £1.5m move as well, Leeds are better off signing a cheap loan as their back-up centre-half this season.
