‘Very good’ – Many Blackburn Rovers fans react to Leeds United loanee’s performance v Preston

It was a good night for Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday, as they claimed derby day bragging rights over Preston North End with an emphatic 3-0 win at Deepdale.

Rovers took the lead on the stroke of half time through Adam Armstrong’s penalty, after Preston full-back Joe Rafferty had been shown a straight red card for bringing down Sam Gallagher in the area.

The visitors would go on to seal the win comfortably after half time, thanks to goals from Ben Brereton and former Preston youngster Tyrhys Dolan.

While there were impressive performances from pretty much every player in a Blackburn shirt on the night, one who stood out in particular, was Barry Douglas.

In just his fourth start for the club since a summer deadline day loan move from Leeds, Douglas played a key role for Tony Mowbray’s side from left-back in the win, offering a consistent threat going forward, while also remaining solid in defence.

That is something that did not go unnoticed amongst Rovers fans, with plenty keen to sing the praises of the Scotsman as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the game.

Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say about the 31-year-old.
