German tabloid Bild originally reported Hannover’s interest, but over the weekend they indicated 96 will now step up their pursuit of Sunderland’s Papy Djilobodji, as a cheaper alternative to provide central defensive cover.
So is the decision to retain Klose a good move by Norwich?
Yes, why not.
The club should dictate to a player what they’re doing with their future.
I’m not a fan of so-called ‘player-power’ and Norwich are making the right noises here.
They’ll need to use their whole squad over the coming months and Klose could feature when the pitches get heavy and the nights get cold.
I think so.
Norwich have improved going forwards but they now look weaker defensively.
They need their options to stay put in order to work it out and Klose is certainly one of them.
Very good decision.
The defender is a vital part of the Norwich side and has experience that their side need.
Daniel Farke’s side are leaking goals and need the calm head of Klose if they are to have a good season this year.
The price tag may have scared off potential suitors, but that shows how valuable Norwich consider the 30-year-old.
