Sheffield Wednesday got their pre-season campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 win at a resilient Lincoln City last night.

The Owls, who were welcoming back a host of players a mixed youth with experience for the game at Sincil Bank, got their rewards for a decent performance when Fernando Forestieri notched with a lovely finish into the bottom corner.

The goal, coming from a Liam Palmer cross, was an impressive finish by the little forward and a further highlight of just how much the Owls missed their key man last season, when he was injured for the majority of the campaign. Here's the goal.

Of course, with no league football and England now out of the World Cup barring their third place playoff tie today, plenty of Owls fans took the time out to praise their striker and give their thoughts on the goal.
