West Brom's defeat to Millwall on Saturday has realistically ended any faint hopes they had of finishing in the top two this season.

It was a disappointing afternoon for the Baggies, with defender Tosin Adarabioyo struggling after returning to the XI following injury.

The on-loan Manchester City man was making his first appearance under caretaker boss James Shan and he won't have been impressed.

In fact, the 21-year-old hasn't really hit the heights that many expected after his arrival at The Hawthorns.

As you can see, there was a lot of excitement about is signing an you can understand why. This was a defender who was coming from the best team in the country where he was highly-rated.

Adarabioyo had already been given a taste of first-team football at City over the years and he was hoping to establish himself as a regular at Albion before evaluating his situation in the summer.

But, it just hasn't worked out.

Whilst he's not been a disaster by any means, the defender is only really a squad player for the Baggies.

He hasn't forced his way into the side in his preferred central defensive position and has had to fill in at full-back for much of the season, where he has produced some mixed displays.

When everyone is fully fit it's hard to see how he gets near the Albion team and it's unlikely that he will feature prominently as Albion push for promotion through the play-offs.

So, whilst it will have no doubt been a learning curve for the player, he hasn't made the big impact many supporters were hoping.
