Huddersfield have completed the signing of Charlton Athletic striker Karlan Grant for an undisclosed fee, as reported by the Addicks official website.

Grant has broken into the Charlton team this season under Lee Bowyer after impressing on a loan spell with Crawley last season.

He's formed a deadly partnership with Lyle Taylor, with the pair bagging 26 League One goals between them.

Grant has 14 of those from 25 starts and has been a major factor in pushing Bowyer's side up the table. They're challenging for an automatic promotion spot but will now have to look hard for a replacement for Grant.

The academy graduate has been shown faith this season and some of the Charlton fans on social media this morning are not happy with how quickly he's abandoned ship. There's messages of good luck, it's always likely when a homegrown player makes a big move, but there's also fans unhappy he's chosen to leave.

The Addicks have little over 36 hours now to find a replacement and appease the dissident voices.
