As with virtually all clubs across the planet, the pandemic has been key to this, with TV revenue held back and a lack of crowds contributing to such losses.
Nevertheless, with the Cherries playing in the Premier League during this period, recording such losses will worry fans, as they know the accounts will be worse next season, as they won’t have the major revenue that playing in the English top-flight brings.
Further details in the accounts revealed just how bad things are, with the club spending 113% of their income on wages.

As you would expect, this news has left the fans concerned, and it also highlighted the importance of securing promotion this season, something which is hanging in the balance as they sit outside the play-off places right now.

This makes very bleak viewing. Not sure how its sustainable at all especially now promotion looks like a massive outside bet

A £60m loss is the headline figure….obviously the devil is in the detail and a few big sales since, but still a worrying number! https://t.co/AJorEFlBWv

Even if we did claw our way back into the playoffs the state of our team the past two years would definitely bottle the playoffs no doubt. Spineless gutless players
