Leeds United’s disastrous start to 2018 looks like costing them dearly in the Sky Bet Championship’s race for the play-offs, with Paul Heckingbottom’s side facing a mammoth task in the final 14 fixtures of the season.  

Last night’s results elsewhere in the Championship have left Leeds in 12th, with a number of clubs between Leeds and the top-six picking up maximum points, including the likes of Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Brentford.

Adam Pope of BBC Radio Leeds has shared an update on Twitter of the Championship table, which doesn’t make good reading for the Whites ahead of their trip to Derby County this evening.

Leeds remain eight points adrift of the top-six, but are in danger of dropping into the bottom-half of the table this evening, depending on their result at Pride Park and how the likes of Ipswich Town and Norwich City perform in their respective fixtures.
