Bournemouth are hoping to sell Tyrone Mings to Nottingham Forest, according to The Mirror's Live Transfer Blog [Saturday 7th July, 18:00].

The versatile defender, who plays at centre-back or as a left-back, is set to be sold to Nottingham Forest so that Bournemouth can fund a move for Leganes left-back Diego Rico in a £5m deal.

Mings has only played 12 Premier League games in three years for Bournemouth following his big money move from Ipswich Town back in 2015.

Prior to that, the 25-year-old had some success at Ipswich, playing 63 games for the Tractor Boys before earning his Premier League move.

But he could be forced to move back to the Championship, with Nottingham Forest taking a keen interest.

Bournemouth are planning to sell Mings to the Reds as Aitor Karanka's summer spending continues.

Forest have recruited strongly this summer and Mings could be the next man through the door, competing with new centre-backs Tobias Figueiredo and Michael Dawson, as well as left-back Jack Robinson.

The Verdict

If he can stay fit, Mings would be an excellent signing and just what Forest need.

The Reds are short at centre-half and left-back and Mings is able to cover both of those departments.

Given their early summer spending, if they bring in Mings and a central midfielder, they look like they are favourites for promotion in my eyes.
