West Bromwich Albion boss Valerien Ismael has admitted to Birmingham World that he expects there to be incomings and outgoings at the club during the January transfer window.

The Baggies are currently eyeing further additions as next month approaches, with the Black Country side known to be looking to sign a new striker in order to boost their attacking options.

Meanwhile it also appears likely that there will be some players who will leave the Hawthorns over the course of January, with the likes of Robert Snodgrass having already been transfer listed by Albion ahead of an expected exit.

Speaking recently on the subject, Ismael was quick to state the following about what fans can expect:

"The key players will stay with us.

"The other thing is that it's the same in January - some players will want to play more and have other expectations, other possibilities - so I think it's more the type of player we are talking about."

Various strikers have already been linked with a move to the Midlands outfit, including he likes of Daryl Dike, Cauley Woodrow and Marcus Forss as West Brom look to cast their net wide.

Whilst Sam Johnstone has once again been linked with an exit as his contract continues to run down towards expiry.

The Verdict

It is set to be a very important and busy month for the Baggies as we move into the new year and it will certainly be intriguing to see what players they look to bring in.

Whilst it'll also be interesting to see who they allow to leave, as the potential loss of Johnstone could be hard to take for the squad as a whole.

Some exits are necessary in order to make room for new recruits, but overall the team is very settled under Ismael at this moment in time and they won't want to disrupt that too much.

However the addition of a new striker could greatly improve their chances of achieving automatic promotion this season after making a strong start in the first half of the campaign.
