West Brom boss Valerien Ismael insists that he is confident that new players will arrive, although he indicated the club will be patient to get the right players.

Despite their relegation, it has been a relatively quiet window for the Baggies, with Ismael happy to work with most of the squad that played in the Premier League last season.

However, some areas of the squad look short, with Albion lacking a physical striker to lead the line as Kenneth Zohore seemingly isn't in favour, whilst some are worried about a lack of depth in central midfield.

And, speaking to the Express & Star, Ismael wouldn't rule out business happening but he is very relaxed about Albion's situation.

"We have two weeks until the end of the transfer period. That is a long, long, time. "e are aware of the market. We know exactly what we need but we need to make sure it is the right decision for us.

"At the minute I am calm because I know exactly what is happening behind the scenes. We are working on the list of players and we will see what we can do."

The verdict

This is a reassuring message to the fans and the way Ismael has handled himself when talking about transfers has been hugely impressive.

He's constantly spoken about the players he has, which has kept them on side, and there's no desperation to get in new faces because he knows the quality he is currently working with.

Clearly, in an ideal world, they would make one or two signings and the Matheus Pereira sale could fund a few additions before the deadline later this month.
