With the January transfer window approaching quickly, clubs will have already began to draw up a list of targets.

It will be no different in the top-flight as Pep Guardiola begins to scour the world for exciting talent for Manchester City.

One player who they are reportedly keen to bring in is young Blackburn Rovers forward, Vilius Piliukaitis, who moved to Ewood Park in the summer from the Lithuanian National Football Academy.

Rovers have an option to buy the 17-year-old in the January window but Manchester City are amongst those keen to steal him, according to TEAMtalk.

If City are to land the exciting prospect they will have to see off competition from their top-six rivals, with Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all keen on him as well.

Would Piliukaitis be a good signing for Guardiola's side?

Jacob Potter

Absolutely not.

If the youngster is only interested in picking up higher wages, then he should move here.

But if he is more interested in actually getting regular game time under his belt, then he will look for a move elsewhere.

George Harbey

I can’t see City signing him.

They have so many talented youngsters and need to focus on developing them first.

Piliukaitis should steer clear.

Louie Chandler

A dreadful move all round.

City hardly have a reputation for developing their academy products into first-team stars, so signing Piliukaitis would be utterly pointless.

He should stick with Rovers.
