Tottenham Hotspur have made the decision to place many non-playing staff on the government's furlough scheme, whilst also cutting many non-playing staff's wages by 20%.

The players or managers at the north London club have not been affected any way financially, with them taking no pay cuts or wage deferrals, something that has caused debate online from many football fans.

The Premier League, PFA and LMA are meeting on Friday to discuss how this may work, and players and staff of top-flight clubs may yet still have to take a cut in some form.

Many Championship clubs have taken the steps to furlough non-playing staff and take cuts where necessary, with Cardiff, QPR and League One side Ipswich just some of the sides to take action.

Are these 15 Leeds United facts true or false? Have a go now!

Meanwhile Leeds United's players, coaching staff and senior management team have volunteered to take a deferral of their wages for the foreseeable future, something that has been applauded my many on social media.

The move by Tottenham and Daniel Levy has seemingly aggravated many Whites fans on social media, with several Leeds fans in the All Leeds Arent We!!! Facebook group reacting to Spurs' strategy....

Nick Julian: It’ll only change when we change it. It’s not ok to take such a vast proportioned a working mans wage so some 19 year old kid can drive a 200k sports car.

Spurs fans, (I understand not boycotting games) need to say a stadium vastly over budget, delivered late and the chairman pockets 2/3 mill in addition to his wage of 3/4 mill.

Disgusting.

Johnny Christopher Elmer: Utterly disgusting, should hang their heads in shame

Joseph Burden: The world has no morals

Andy Brough: They should all defer like Leeds and Birmingham , to protect the integrity of sport

Iain Booth: It's totally disgusting. I don't want ANY of my taxes going to Premier League clubs when there are underpaid doctors and nurses risking their lives EVERY day to save others.

This virus has certainly highlighted the greed that we have in modern football.

Paul Bibb: Very pleased to say that the manager and players at Leeds United have all taken pay cuts so that the back room staff from the top to bottom of each department can continue to get paid. The manager Bielsa set the tone and everyone followed suit. Class!

Andy Dickinson: How is it different to any other company? Top brass always get better benefits. I mean it's all wrong but why do footballers get condemned while others get left alone. Sports direct shop staff will get bugger all while their head office staff will be getting full pay.

Carol Convery: Disgraceful, they should feel ashamed.

Steve Massey: Norwich and Newcastle have joined the list of shame too.

Philip Henderson: Disgraceful
