There is still divided opinion at Aston Villa over manager Steve Bruce, following the club’s failure to challenge for the Play-Offs this season.

Following Roberto Di Matteo’s dismissal in October, Bruce took over at Villa Park, with the aim of sending the club towards the Play-Offs after a disappointing start to the season.

Having initially done that, Bruce’s side then failed to win a game between December 26^th and February 25^th, wiping out all hope of promotion from the Sky Bet Championship.

Bruce has recently overseen his club record three consecutive victories, with Villa sweeping aside, Derby County, Bristol City and Rotherham United, easing relegation fears.

However, last night’s defeat to promotion-chasing Huddersfield Town, has divided opinion amongst Villa fans if Bruce is the right man for the job.

Tommy Smith’s second-half strike was enough to sink Villa, who squandered a number of chances throughout the game.
