Bolton Wanderers on loan striker Christian Doidge is set to return to Forest Green Rovers after his dream move collapsed this week.

Forest Green chairman Dale Vince outlined the reasons behind the recall in a passionate and emotional social media post, during which he made several claims about Bolton's behaviour towards Doidge.

The striker, previously based in the south west, apparently bought a house close to Bolton and prepared for his big move to be made permanent, but Vince claims the Trotters haven't even been paying the player's wages for the last few months.

That responsibility has allegedly fallen on the smallest club in the Football League and has contributed to them recalling Doidge from his deal.

Bolton fans are suitably embarrassed by their club's actions and have cited one man as being responsible, chairman Ken Anderson. Those who have taken to Twitter to respond to the news have apologised to both Doidge and Forest Green, claiming they're ashamed of their club's behaviour.

It certainly asks a lot of questions about Bolton and the direction in which they're heading at the moment. Here's a sample of their messages to Vince and Christian Doidge.
