Freddie Sears has largely found himself on the sidelines this term for Ipswich Town, with the former West Ham United man having only made seven appearances in all competitions for the Tractor Boys this season.

At the age of 30, Sears is seemingly coming towards the end of his career as a footballer and must surely be keen to receive more in the way of game time than what he has been afforded by Paul Lambert this campaign.

Sears originally arrived at the East Anglian club back in 2015 after completing a move from near neighbours Colchester United and has since gone on to to make over 180 appearances for the Portman Road side, notching 30 goals in the process.

QUIZ: Are these 15 ex-Ipswich Town players still playing? Yes or no? See if you can get full marks down below!

Ahead of the club's home game against Burton Albion this weekend, Football League World Journalist Chris Thorpe asked members of the Ipswich Town FC Forum group on Facebook if they would start Sears against the Brewers at the weekend, yielding a wide array of responses from the fans.

Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions to the question posed via social media.

Jamie Paul Brand: He doesn't look fit to me. Although he can't do any worse than the others.

Darren Turner: Absolutely, up top with Norwood.

Daniel Berry: No, he's not sharp enough. Play the same team that started against Wimbledon. It may not be playing too well but it's the best we have. Hopefully Garbutt and Edward's are back.

Dave Bellingham: No, not match fit.

Adam Cornish: Not a chance! Utter rubbish!

Dave Clarke: Why not, let’s try something new.

Lee Johnson: Nope.

Yvonne Morgan: Would shut the moaners up.

Jonathan Richardson: Yes definitely.

Ray Firman: No, none of them, I'd rather play the under 23s.

George Cable: Yes play him behind Jackson and Norwood.
