Despite the welcome return of fans to The Valley, it was a disappointing night on the pitch for Charlton Athletic on Wednesday, as they were beaten 1-0 by MK Dons.

After a goalless first half, the decisive goal came with just 15 minute remaining in the game, as Scott Fraser fired into the bottom corner from just inside the Charlton area, a goal which was ultimately enough to claim all three points for the visitors.

That result means that Lee Bowyer's League One promotion hopefuls have now lost to two sides at the wrong end of the table, Burton and MK Dons, in their last two games.

Perhaps not surprisingly therefore, plenty of Charlton fans were not entirely pleased as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the game, and one player who came in for a considerable amount of criticism, was Ben Purrington.

Not for the first time, the left back found himself as the source of frustration for a number of Charlton fans, having struggled to make much of a positive impression on the game on Wednesday, as the Addicks' hopes of a return to the Championship suffered another blow.
