Huddersfield Town’s inconsistent form continued as they were beaten 4-3 at Stoke City in a thriller yesterday.
Carlos Corberan has had a mixed start since taking over the Terriers, although there are clear signs that the attractive football he wants to play will bring results in the future.
However, there are areas to improve and the side were weak defensively against the Potters.
One man who particularly struggled was Richard Stearman. The experienced defender scored an own goal to put Stoke 3-2 up just before half-time. As well as that, his positioning was poor on several occasions and he made a few bad decisions when playing out.
Huddersfield Town quiz: Can you name the club’s top goalscorer from the last 13 seasons?
It’s fair to say that many fans feel this has been a regular problem with Stearman, and they are fast losing patience with the 33-year-old, who has featured in 11 Championship games this season.
Here we look at some of the reaction to Stearman’s performance from Twitter…
if we had a defence we'd be a decent side. what has happened to Stearman? too much overplay. get rid of it ffs. also….. sorry but the keeper is not good enough at all. he's not good enough to play for a national league one side never mind town. #shocking #htafc

The problem with Town is we never seem to learn from our own mistakes. Stearman was a disgrace today and he should have known better. We can’t keep letting players like him and others off the hook as a club. Also, why bring on Diakhaby when we all know he’ll do f all? #htafc
