Sheffield United have no new injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s clash with Bristol City, although Chris Wilder will remain without Gary Madine due to the striker’s suspension.

Wilder’s side have enjoyed an extended break from Championship action due to March’s international break, but they return to action at Bramall Lane tomorrow against Bristol City, with promotion still firmly in their sights following a 1-0 win over Leeds United last time out.

And, Wilder has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from for the visit of the Robins, with James Shield from the Sheffield Star confirming that Madine will be the only absentee due to suspension.

This will be the second game of Madine’s three-match ban after the striker sat out the victory at Elland Road. He will also miss next Saturday’s trip to Preston North End, but should be in line to return when the Blades head to St Andrew’s to take on Birmingham City.

Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick led the line at Elland Road, but the latter has been away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland in the last fortnight.

Scott Hogan and Conor Washington are Wilder’s other striking options in Madine’s absence.

The Verdict

This is good news for Wilder ahead of the run-in, with Sheffield United looking like they’re in great shape.

Some of the Blades’ most important players – John Egan, John Fleck, Enda Stevens and McGoldrick – were away on international duty last week, so to learn they have no problems is uplifting.

It’s going to be a tight run-in and all Wilder’s squad have to be ready for that.
