Stoke City head into their weekend clash against QPR off the back off a mixed bag of form, with the Potters having won three and lost two of their last five Championship outings.

Michael O'Neill's men face a QPR side who are also in desperate need of three points after failing to taste victory in each of their last four league outings.

The Potters are expected to be without the services of several squad members for the away trip to West London, with the likes of Thibaud Verlinden and James McClean seemingly set to miss out after being taken off injured during Wednesday night's defeat to Preston North End.

Another potential absentee who could throw a spanner in the works is midfielder Sam Clucas, with the versatile central player having taken a blow to the hip during the side's midweek fixture.

Both McClean and Clucas have been almost ever present for the Stoke-on-Trent outfit this term and will surely be big misses for the Championship struggler, whilst Verlinden's hopes of making an impact for the first team after being recalled from his loan spell with Bolton Wanderers have now been left in doubt.

It is so far unclear as to who O'Neill is likely to turn too as alternatives for his three expected absentees, with the likes of Sam Vokes, Lee Gregory and Jordan Cousins all sure to be hopeful of making the team, particularly given the decrease in options available to their manager.

Meanwhile, the Potters will be seeking to exact revenge on the R's after the West London side defeated them previously this season on the opening weekend of the campaign.
