Sunderland will be looking to return to winning ways in Sky Bet League One tomorrow night, as they prepare to take on Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.

The Black Cats fell to their first defeat of the season at the weekend, losing 3-1 to promotion rivals Portsmouth at the Stadium of Light, and they will be keen to respond in a positive manner.

Marcus Harness opened the scoring on seven minutes before Charlie Wyke equalised moments later. A John Marquis double ensured that Pompey would leave the Stadium of Light with all three points.

Tomorrow night, Phil Parkinson's side - who currently sit sixth in League One - travel to Rochdale with Brian Barry-Murphy's side occupying 15th spot in the table.

Parkinson is likely to make changes to the side that lost to Pompey, with a midweek trip on the horizon before a trip to Gillingham at the weekend.

One change that Parkinson will be forced to make will be at the back, after Luke O'Nien was sent off at the weekend.

O'Nien brought down Harness inside the area to deny a goalscoring opportunity, and was given his marching orders after being shown a second yellow card.

O'Nien will now miss tomorrow night's game through a one-match suspension, meaning that either Tom Flanagan or Conor McLaughlin could take his place in the team.

Jordan Willis recovered from a bruised foot to feature against Portsmouth, and he is likely to keep his place in the team tomorrow night.

Elsewhere, there are no fresh injury concerns for the Black Cats as they look to get back to their best tomorrow.
