Jonathan Woodgate and his Middlesbrough side get the new EFL season kicked off in a week from now with the Friday night game taking place against Luton Town.
Boro fans will hope that their defensive strength can be matched with new attacking verve this season and, if they can manage to balance the pair they’ll be hard to stop for sure.
The transfer window remains open for any final tweaks managers want to make, too, and it seems as though Marc Bola is one man that Boro are really closing in on now.
According to Alan Nixon on Twitter, things are pressing on:
Middlesbrough. Now pressing on with deal for Marc Bola. Shame for Blackpool. Great spot when they signed him.

This is a signing Boro fans should be pleased with.
Bola is a strong defensive player but he offers attacking threat, too, and that should allow them to impose themselves on games better than last year.
He likes to bomb forward when he can from the defensive third and have an impact in the attacking one, whilst also being strong in the challenge.
Young enough to really improve in the coming seasons, too, this could be a very exciting signing for Boro.
Equally, too, it is a blow for Blackpool as Nixon states, but perhaps one they’re not overly shocked by.
