Nottingham Forest's Joao Carvalho is settled at the club and is not pushing for an exit - although he could still leave before the January window closes.

The attacking midfielder is the Reds record signing after joining for around £13m at the start of the previous campaign but he has struggled for consistency since.

Carvalho has played 17 times for Forest this season, with many of those appearances coming from the bench, whilst he failed to make the squad against Reading last time out.

That has prompted further speculation that the 22-year-old could depart, with Olympiacos mentioned as a potential destination.

And, The Athletic reporter Paul Taylor has confirmed that a move to the Greek giants could still go through this month but he also stressed that Carvalho has no desire to move on.

The update revealed that the Portuguese U21 international is settled in England with his partner and would be happy to stay with Forest for the years to come.

However, Sabri Lamouchi is keen to bring in a striker this month and the potential fee that Carvalho would require could go towards funding a new number nine.

The verdict

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens with Carvalho this month and in truth, you wouldn't be surprised if he did leave the City Ground.

But, this update is important because it proves that if he does stay then Forest aren't going to have an unhappy player on their hands as he is clearly ready to fight for his place.

Forest are sure to be busy in the final two weeks and there could be a few ins and outs in that time.
